Prof. Katharina Christl trained at the Palucca School of dance Dresden before pursuing her professional career. Since 1998, she worked professionally as a freelance interdisciplinary choreographer for Ballet National de Marseille, Compagnie Grenade, Musée d‘Art Contemporain de Marseille, Stadt Dresden, CYNETart Festival, Festival de Marseille, Musée de l’Art Moderne et Contemporain Géneve, Palucca University of Dance Dresden, KLAP Marseille and the Conservatoire National Supérieur Musique et Danse de Lyon.
She performed as a Soloist and then later rehearsal leader at the Ballet National de Marseille (France) and collaborated with choreographers such as, e. g., Richard Siegal, Emanuel Gat, Michèle Noiret, Stephan Petronio, Lucinda Childs, Frédéric Flamand, Pascal Touzeau, Annabelle Lòpez Ochoa, Yasuyuki Endo. She has worked as a Choreographic assistant for creations of Frédéric Flamand and Richard Siegal and Guest ballet master at the Bavarian State Ballet and the Ballet of Difference/Staatsschauspiel Cologne.
Since 2015 she worked as Professor of Choreography and Head of the Master Choreography Programme at the Palucca University of Dance Dresden and in 2024 was appointed Director.
