WHATS INVOLVED
- The BICDPrix is Australia's leading Contemporary Dance Event for Dancers aged 11-22 seeking a pathway into the contemporary dance industry. We are pleased to have built long lasting relationships with national and international industry professionals who are the best in their field.
- The event takes place over 6 days and this year will be held from the 28th of September until the 3rd of October 2026.
- Dancers partake in Classical Ballet Classes, Contemporary classes, improvisational sessions, are coached on their chosen repertoire solo and attend Networking forums all with our esteemed artistic faculty and Panel.
- Intermediate and Senior Candidates will also have the opportunity to create their own short solo during the week under the guidance of a leading professional. Details and Music for this component will be provided on Day 1 of the event so that creation time is equal and fair for all.
- All Intermediate and Senior candidates will perform their Repertoire solo along with their self creation on Friday during the Semi Finals.
- Selected Finalists will perform both solos again on the Saturday along with a live Improvisational session which will be judged and viewed by the panel and audience.
- Directly after the Junior Performance , the award presentation will take place.
- Please note that after the Semi finals on Friday, the Panel and Artistic team will compile a list of candidates they wish to interview on Saturday Morning. Both Finalists and Non-finalists may be requested for an interview.
